Hos son joined him in the struggle against Russian domination, and young Casmir`s military sikll and daring made him a legend throughout Europe. But the polish rebelion was crushed, and Pulaski found himself a penniless exile in France with a price of his head, Poland`s loss was America`s gain as Pulaski joined the forsses of General George Washington in 1776. Leading the fierce calvary force known as Pulaski Legion, he proved his worth in Pennsylvania, in the Indian-terrorized ohawk Valley and in final, crucial contest for the South. Cashmir Pulaski was only thirty-two when Brothish bullet ended his life. Yet those brief years were filled with wnough action for a dozen lives as this brave, proud and headstrong man fought the forces of oppresion on both sides of the Atlantic. |
